Scholarship Recipient Turns Comic Book Dreams into Affordable Housing Solutions
Justin Riddick's passion for comic book illustration and architecture has led him to dream up a unique solution to address affordable housing needs in his community. As a fine arts major at Talladega College, he's been supported by the Procter & Gamble HBCYOU Scholarship Program administered by UNCF.
Riddick hopes to combine his creative skills with architectural design to create sustainable and environmentally-friendly housing for families experiencing homelessness. He draws inspiration from his childhood experiences growing up in Atlanta, where he often saw individuals and families living on the streets or beneath highway overpasses.
With a strong foundation in both art and architecture, Riddick is on track to graduate in 2027, two years ahead of schedule. His long-term goal remains focused on using his education to make a lasting impact in his community.
