Schwartz Exits Aveanna Board Amid CDC Confirmation
The new CDC Director Erica Schwartz has stepped down from her role as an independent director at Aveanna Healthcare Holdings, a home health and hospice provider. She notified Aveanna on Wednesday that she would resign in connection with her nomination and confirmation as the CDC Director.
Schwarz served as the chair of Aveanna's clinical quality committee since 2021 and held a significant amount of stock and unvested restricted stock units in the company. According to SEC documents, she will forfeit her unvested restricted stock units if they don't vest by May 28, 2026.
The CDC Director also resigned from her role as president of insurance solutions at United Healthcare, the services arm of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). This move comes after her confirmation as the CDC Director on Wednesday in a 51-to-44 vote.
