Scotland's Former IBM Site to Get £860m Data Centre
Slate Island Developments has filed plans to build an 860,000 sq ft data centre at the former IBM site in Greenock, Scotland.
The development will consist of four data centre buildings alongside landscaping, parking and sustainable drainage infrastructure. The majority of existing woodland around the site boundaries would be retained.
The project aims to regenerate part of the former technology and industrial site at Spango Valley, off Inverkip Road, into a productive use.
'Spango Valley has a proud history as a centre for technology and employment in Inverclyde, and these proposals offer an exciting opportunity to open a new chapter for this important site,' said a spokesperson for Slate Island Developments.
