Scottie Scheffler's Caddie Bails Mid-Tournament, Allows Rookie Koivun to Win
Scottie Scheffler's caddie, Ted Scott, left him mid-tournament at the 3M Open, which raised eyebrows and sparked questions about Scott's decision-making.
The tournament was being held at TPC Twin Cities on a hot 97-degree afternoon, with PGA Tour rookie Jackson Koivun holding a three-stroke lead after 56 holes.
Koivun, who was making just his third professional start, managed to hold onto the lead and secure his first PGA Tour victory by three strokes over Scheffler, finishing at 25-under-par.
The World No. 1 had carded a six-under-par 63 on Sunday but ultimately settled for his fifth runner-up finish this season, with his lone victory coming in January at the American Express tournament.
