Scott's Philanthropic Prowess Outshines Bezos' Giving

MacKenzie Scott and Jeff Bezos, co-founders of Amazon, have taken vastly different approaches to philanthropy. Despite Bezos' massive $280 billion net worth, Scott has given away almost five times more money than her ex-husband.

Bezos owns approximately 879.74 million shares in Amazon, while Scott received about 139 million shares as part of their divorce settlement in 2019. The value of those shares has not slowed down Scott's giving pace, with her donating $7.2 billion alone in 2025.

Scott's philanthropic efforts have been unprecedented among billionaires, with over $27 billion donated to more than 2,500 organizations since her divorce. In contrast, Bezos' Bezos Earth Fund has distributed only about $2.4 billion of the $10 billion pledged.
