SCRI and Merck Team Up for Broader Access to Oncology Clinical Trials
Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) and Merck have joined forces to expand access to oncology clinical trials across the United States.
The collaboration, which uses SCRI's Accelero model, aims to streamline trial operations, improve efficiency, and support broader enrollment in cancer research closer to where patients live and receive care.
The oncology clinical research environment has become increasingly complex with evolving trial designs, specific eligibility criteria, and pressure to bring new therapeutic approaches to patients rapidly. SCRI and Merck said their collaboration addresses these challenges through a scalable approach to oncology trial execution.
Jennifer Coppola, Associate Vice President and Regional Head for Global Clinical Trial Operations of North America at Merck Research Laboratories, stated that the collaboration could help 'reach patients faster, reduce protocol complexity, and make oncology clinical studies more accessible.'
