Sega President Invested $5 Million in Nvidia Due to CEO Jensen Huang's Character
Shoichiro Irimajiri, former president of Sega Co., attributed his decision to invest in Nvidia Corp. in the late 1990s to CEO Jensen Huang's character.
Irimajiri, who was head of Sega Enterprises Ltd. at the time, invested $5 million in Nvidia after being impressed by Huang's leadership.
The investment came when Sega contracted Nvidia to develop a graphics processing unit for its Dreamcast game console.
However, the development project failed, and Irimajiri decided to terminate the contract with Nvidia.
