Seinfeld Claims He Convinced Amex to Create Exclusive Black Card

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has revealed new details about his alleged involvement in creating the American Express Black Card. According to his account, in the 1990s, while working as a face of American Express, a crew member on one of the company's commercials asked him if he had a Black Card. Seinfeld claimed that at the time, the card existed only as a rumor.

Seinfeld told the story during a recent live interview with actor Sebastian Maniscalco, adding that the comedian called American Express' then-president Harvey Golub to ask about the card. Golub explained that it was merely a rumor and had never actually existed, but Seinfeld suggested they create one anyway.

The Black Card reportedly requires a 'well-padded bank account', and its famous holders have included Kim Kardashian and Oprah Winfrey. Seinfeld claimed he was the first person to receive the exclusive card, but 'threw it out' without knowing what happened to it.
