SentinelOne Warns Against Overhyped AI Security Claims
SentinelOne, an AI-focused cybersecurity company, recently presented at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026. Founder and CEO Tomer discussed how AI is reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, but not in the way many vendors claim.
Tomer emphasized that demand for SentinelOne's products remains strong, with new products growing quickly. However, he warned that faster attacks do not change the fundamental need for better security fundamentals.
SentinelOne reported a strong Q2 earnings beat and raised its full-year revenue guidance by a larger amount than the quarterly beat itself. The company's AI security products, Prompt Security and Purple AI, posted triple year-over-year ARR growth. Net retention improved over the last two quarters, especially in the $100,000-plus customer group.
Tomer highlighted that recent agentic attacks do not represent a new class of attack, but rather existing techniques carried out faster. He stressed that there is no 'magic solution' from any cybersecurity vendor and that improving security basics remains crucial.
