A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737-500 operating from Mashhad to Kermanshah in Iran made an emergency landing in Mashhad on September 15, 2026. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff when the pilots declared an emergency due to a problem with one of the tires.

During the landing, sections of the cabin ceiling came down, exposing parts of the aircraft's internal structure. Despite the severity of the situation, no passengers were injured and everyone was safely evacuated from the aircraft.

The incident comes just weeks after another Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737-500 veered off the runway at Mashhad on August 25, with 127 people aboard. The Civil Aviation Organization in Iran has opened an investigation into both incidents.
