Shell plc's stock has reached new highs, driven by the oil rally and support from JPMorgan. As of September 9, 2026, London-listed shares traded at around 3,530 pence, while New York American Depositary Shares touched roughly 95.80 dollars.

The oil price recovery and energy sector strength have translated directly into equity gains for Shell. The company's shares have climbed nearly 25 percent since their July 2026 low and about 42 percent from the January 2026 trough.

Shell's recent reporting highlighted strong cash generation in the latest quarter, supported by elevated crude prices and disciplined capital returns. Free cash flow in the second quarter of 2026 was estimated at around 21.40 billion US dollars, with Shell running a share repurchase program of about 3.00 billion US dollars.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. reaffirmed its Overweight rating on Shell on September 8, 2026, with a price target of 3,600 pence for the London-listed shares. This implies upside of roughly 2 percent from the current level.
