Sheridan Fire-Rescue Distributes Donated Smoke Alarms, Offers Free Installation

The Sheridan Fire-Rescue Department in Wyoming recently received a donation of 100 smoke alarms from Home Depot. The donated alarms come equipped with 10-year batteries, which means they won't need to be replaced for at least a decade.

According to the SFRD, the department now wants to distribute these alarms to ensure every home in Sheridan County has a functioning smoke alarm. They're encouraging residents to check their existing alarms for three key reasons: to confirm they have one, to verify it's working properly, and to determine its age.

If you don't have a smoke alarm or if the one you have is more than 10 years old, Sheridan Fire-Rescue recommends replacing it. For residents in the City of Sheridan, SFRD will install new alarms free of charge. Those living in Sheridan County can pick up the donated alarms at the SFRD Office located at 151 S. Scott.
