The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has reached an agreement with the Sherwin-Williams Manufacturing Company's Rochester Township plant regarding long-standing odor complaints from residents in Beaver County. The plant, located on Cleveland Street, produces coatings that are formulated and delivered to blending facilities, customers, and distributors.

According to the DEP, a consent order was announced on August 10th, requiring Sherwin-Williams to pay a total of $124,700 as a civil penalty within 30 days of receiving the fully executed consent order. The plant's neighbors have been complaining about a sickly sweet odor similar to a nail polish scent that has at times become unbearable.
