Sherwin-Williams Announces Celery as 2027 Color of the Year
Paint company Sherwin-Williams has announced its 2027 Color of the Year as Celery, a light green with a slight yellow undertone. According to Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, this color is 'softer and more usable' than previous interpretations of green.
'This is a different interpretation that's softer and more usable,' says Wadden. Celery takes the lead in the brand's Colormix 2027 Trend Forecast, which features 48 shades ranging from bold to serene. The forecast encourages people to 'throw caution to the wind' and create spaces with personality.
'Color influences mood, shapes our experiences, and helps create meaningful connections to the places we spend the most time,' says Emily Kantz, interior designer and color strategist at Sherwin-Williams. 'Colormix 2027 is an invitation to embrace that potential and to design with intention, creativity, and confidence.'
Celery can be used in various ways, such as painting a room entirely or using it as an accent. The forecast also recommends pairing Celery with vibrant reds or blues for unexpected combinations.
