Sherwin-Williams Hikes Paint Prices by 8% Amid Rising Costs
Sherwin-Williams is raising prices on its Paint Stores Group products by 8% starting September 1, according to its second-quarter fiscal 2026 financial report. The company cited rising raw material and operating costs as the reason for the increase.
The Paint Stores Group is Sherwin-Williams' core business segment, which includes architectural interior and exterior coatings, wood stains, and painting application tools. It serves professional painting contractors and home improvement consumers through a network of direct-to-consumer paint stores in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.
Industry analysts believe that Sherwin-Williams' price adjustment may create a demonstration effect, and other coating brands in the region might follow suit. The company aims to stabilize its operating profit margins by relying on pricing strategies and internal cost reduction.
