Sherwin-Williams Names Celery as 2027 Color of the Year
Sherwin-Williams has announced its 2027 Color of the Year, and it's not what you'd expect. The paint brand has chosen Celery, a soft yellow-green hue, for this prestigious title. According to Sherwin-Williams' color marketing manager, Ashley Banbury, 'Celery was chosen as the 2027 Color of the Year because it reflects today's priorities: wellness, balance, and connection.'
The company's research indicates that homeowners are increasingly prioritizing comfort and well-being in their homes. This shift has led to a growing interest in eco-inspired design, with a focus on bringing elements of nature indoors through color.
Celery is one of the lightest colors in Sherwin-Williams' 2027 Colormix Trend Forecast, which includes dark greens, warm whites, plum browns, blues, reds, and purples. The forecast is based on research across the company's residential design, industrial wood, and coatings divisions.
Celery can work well in a variety of design styles, from contemporary to traditional, according to Banbury. 'Celery is a soft, fresh yellow green with subtle warmth that brings a calming yet uplifting presence to any space.'
