Sherwin-Williams has announced its Color of the Year for 2027: Celery, a soft green with yellow undertones that combines elements of citrus shades and chartreuse. This muted green is said to feel both invigorating and calming.

Ashley Banbury, color marketing manager at Sherwin-Williams, notes that Celery sits between pastel and natural herb tones. It has a softness to it but also a yellow undertone that adds warmth.

Banbury sees consumers wanting to unplug from the world's busyness by connecting with nature in their spaces. She believes that Celery connects people to this softness found in nature, providing a calming feel when entering a home.

Celery can be used as both a neutral for an entire room or a pop of unexpected color in smaller applications. Banbury recommends using it on millwork like kitchen cabinetry and bathroom vanities, as well as spaces where a soothing feel is desired, such as bathrooms and bedrooms.
