Sherwin-Williams Picks Celery as 2027 Color of the Year
Sherwin-Williams has announced its 2027 Color of the Year, and it's a fresh take on pastels. The company has chosen Celery (SW-6421), a soft, muted green with subtle yellow undertones, for this honor.
Celery is described as 'a light, herbal hue reminiscent of fresh celery leaves' but also has hints of yellow that give it a glow and added warmth. According to Ashley Banbury, color marketing manager at Sherwin-Williams, Celery represents the evolution of greens, which are becoming warmer.
This versatility may be Celery's biggest calling card. While deeper greens can create cozy, moody-feeling spaces, this lighter take on the nature-inspired hue brings a little more airiness to a room. 'It's a really fresh pastel green,' says Banbury. 'I think of pastels as being more mature now and this is definitely one that doesn’t feel juvenile, it feels fresh and mature, and like a new take on how we can bring a neutral into a space.'
