Sherwin-Williams Powers Up Refinish Productivity with Automated Paint Mixing

Sherwin-Williams is helping commercial vehicle refinish shops improve productivity and reduce downtime by combining automated paint mixing with connected shop software, coating systems, and technical support.

The company's CollisionCore platform manages color, inventory, and diagnostics for shops, while its Pronto XL system automates high-volume paint mixing with precision to less than a gram, reducing waste and rework. This allows technicians to work on other tasks while paint is being mixed.

Ackman said the Pronto XL enables shops to increase throughput by producing consistent mixes in minutes, reducing preparation time from 30 minutes to just two or three minutes. Pairing this with Versahyde coatings can create 'true end-to-end productivity', improving process times and overall shop throughput.

Sherwin-Williams works directly with shops to analyze their existing processes and identify potential improvements through technical support, training teams on best practices and optimizing workflows.
