Sherwin-Williams Prepares Second Downtown Tower Amid Parking Concerns
Cleveland's downtown area is experiencing significant developments, with Sherwin-Williams planning a second tower in the vicinity. The company has been monitoring employee usage of its new campus since its ribbon-cutting on May 11 and has reportedly started gathering costs, designs, and materials options for the proposed HQ2.
The site for the potential new tower is a 1.3-acre parcel owned by Sherwin-Williams at the northeast corner of West Superior Avenue and West 6th Street. The working concept involves stacking offices on top of a multilevel parking garage, with heights ranging from 250 to 450 feet.
The primary concern driving the need for HQ2 is parking, as the current campus garage only holds 920 spaces due to its design for a hybrid workforce. With Sherwin-Williams enforcing a return-to-office policy five days a week, the available space has become insufficient.
