Sherwin-Williams, a global coatings giant, is planning to build a second headquarters tower next to its existing 36-story HQ campus in Downtown Cleveland. This new tower, dubbed HQ2, will feature multiple levels of structured parking in its base and is expected to be built on a 1.3-acre parcel owned by the company at the northeast corner of West Superior Avenue and West 6th Street.

The decision to pursue HQ2 was based on existing employment, hiring, workspace allocation, parking, and future expectations. Sherwin-Williams has enforced a return-to-office policy, requiring employees to work in the office five days a week, which led to the need for more space and parking facilities.

The proposed HQ2 will be 12 to 24 stories tall and will feature a multilevel parking garage with undetermined capacity. The garage will provide parking not only for the new offices but also for the existing 616-foot tower. If the building is too heavy, additional geotechnical sampling work may be required.
