Singapore Airlines Downsizes Bali Flights, Cuts Capacity by Over 20%

Singapore Airlines is shifting its Bali route to accommodate more efficient flights, but this change comes at a cost for passengers. As of late October 2026, three out of six daily flights from Singapore to Bali will operate with the Boeing 737-8 MAX, which has significantly fewer seats and less premium cabin space than the current Boeing 787-10 aircraft.

The move means that capacity on the route will be reduced by over 20%, with only five daily services available for more than half of the northern winter season. This is a significant decrease from the six-daily schedule offered during the summer months.

Passengers booked on flights SQ934/935, SQ946/947, and SQ948/949 will be affected by this change, as they will now have to travel in a narrow-body cabin with less legroom and no direct aisle access for most Business Class seats. The 737-8 MAX also has smaller screens and less live TV options compared to the Boeing 787-10.

Interestingly, the sixth daily flight that was added in July 2023 will be switching back from a wide-body aircraft to a narrow-body one, which it originally started with.
