Singapore Set for Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity Hub with SIT, IBM Partnership
Singapore is set to become a hub for quantum-safe cybersecurity solutions as SIT and IBM collaborate on a new centre. The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and IBM plan to establish a quantum-safe centre by the end of 2026 in Punggol, Singapore.
The centre will help organisations assess cybersecurity risks and prepare for post-quantum threats by identifying vulnerabilities in existing systems and mapping out steps to adopt quantum-safe solutions. Companies can test quantum-safe technologies in a live environment using IBM tools such as the Guardium Cryptography Manager and Quantum Safe Explorer.
The facility is expected to serve enterprises, technology practitioners, researchers, and government stakeholders. SIT and IBM will introduce two Continuing Education and Training programmes through the centre later this year, covering post-quantum cryptography, enterprise migration planning, cryptographic risk discovery, governance, and security architecture modernisation.
