Singapore's Economic Growth Forecast Revised Upward Amid Graphics Card Shortage Concerns
The Ministry of Trade and Industry has upgraded its economic growth forecast for Singapore in 2026 to between 4.5 and 5.5 per cent, citing better-than-expected performance in the first half of the year.
This marks a significant increase from the previous forecast range of 2 to 4 per cent.
JPMorgan Chase has also raised its targets for Singapore stocks, expecting the Straits Times Index (STI) to hit the 7,000 mark over the next 12 months in a bull case scenario, representing a 22 per cent increase from its current level.
In other news, PC Partner Group, a Hong Kong-based manufacturer of video graphics accelerator cards and other computer components listed on the Singapore exchange, has warned of a worsening shortage of graphics cards and other key components that could drive up PC prices in the second half of 2026.
