Smoke Fills Delta Boeing 757 After Takeoff from Atlanta
A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 was evacuated at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday morning after smoke and fumes entered the flight deck and cabin.
The incident occurred just minutes after takeoff, when the pilots reported smoke and fumes in the cockpit. They declared an emergency and returned to ATL, where airport firefighters inspected the plane but found no visible smoke, fire, or damage.
However, once the aircraft had landed, smoke began filling the cabin, prompting the emergency evacuation of all 199 passengers and crew by slides onto the taxiway.
