Social Media Advertising Gains Momentum with New Creative Leadership
The Social Lights has appointed Dave Bullen as its new Vice President of Creative. With over two decades of experience in the advertising industry, Bullen joins The Social Lights from Minneapolis-based Mono, where he spent 16 years and most recently held the position of Group Creative Director.
Bullen's extensive background includes working with prominent brands such as Google, Apple, Harley-Davidson, Alfa Romeo, Target, and Sherwin-Williams. Prior to his tenure at Mono, he held art direction roles at Olson and Carmichael Lynch, where he began his career.
The Social Lights' President and Chief Growth Officer, Stephanie Schafer, emphasized the importance of social media in modern advertising. She stated that it 'demands the same brand rigor as any other component of a marketing plan,' underscoring Bullen's appointment as a strategic move to address this trend.
Bullen himself expressed his approach to creative work, emphasizing the need for brands to be brave and authentic in their messaging. He noted that 'speed and meaning don't have to be at odds,' suggesting an approach that balances timely engagement with long-term narrative goals.
