Software Sector Sees Rebound as Salesforce Earnings Soar
The US software sector has been one of the hardest-hit areas of the market in 2026, but recent earnings reports from companies like Salesforce may indicate that concerns over AI disruption have been overstated.
Salesforce's explosive earnings, with adjusted EPS of $5.90 and revenue reaching $11.35 billion, up 11% year-over-year, suggest a broader recovery in the sector is possible.
The company reported accelerating demand for its AI products, with annual recurring revenue from Agentforce exceeding $1 billion, and a $2.6 billion gain tied to its strategic investment in artificial intelligence startup Anthropic.
Other US software stocks are also showing signs of rebounding, including Copart, which operates the world's largest online auto auction platform, and Uber, which has evolved beyond ride-hailing into a technology platform using AI to optimize pricing, logistics, and autonomous vehicles.
