Solar-Powered Trash Cans Continue Rollout at EPCOT's World Showcase
Walt Disney World has confirmed that two more pavilions at EPCOT's World Showcase will be receiving solar-powered trash cans. The Japan Pavilion and Italy Pavilion have both seen the installation of these new bins, which are part of a larger rollout across the property.
The new cans are brown in color and feature the standard World Showcase medallion on the front. This is a departure from the customized designs seen at other pavilions, such as The American Adventure, which have unique artwork and patriotic themes.
Disney has stated that these solar-powered compacting bins will eventually be installed across all four Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, the water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and additional resort locations. This is intended to reduce waste disposal needs and minimize overflowing containers on busy days.
