Somon Air Takes Delivery of First Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft
Tajikistan's national carrier Somon Air has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking a significant step in its fleet modernization plans.
The airline is leasing two 737-8 jets from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), with the second expected to arrive soon. The new planes are equipped to carry up to 210 passengers and offer improved fuel efficiency compared to their predecessors.
Somon Air CEO Abdulkosim Valiev highlighted the strategic importance of the 737 MAX, citing its range capability and potential for opening new routes with better economics.
