South Park Creators Mock Trump's 'Lake America' Renaming Efforts

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have mocked President Donald Trump's decision to rename Lake Ontario to 'Lake America', as well as tech giants Apple and Google updating their maps to reflect this change. The duo made a tongue-in-cheek statement on X, saying they are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA, citing the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google.

The statement also included a jab at Trump's settlement with CBS and its parent company Paramount Global, which signed a $1.5 billion deal to stream the animated series on Paramount+ in 2025. The Emmy-winning show has consistently poked fun at the former president since his second term began in 2025.

Trump signed an executive order last month to rename Lake Ontario as 'Lake America', stating that the United States is the greatest protector of the Great Lakes, including Lake Ontario. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps updated their maps to display Lake Ontario as 'Lake America' after the order was issued, with Google saying it would show both names in its Maps service.

The South Park creators have been vocal critics of Trump's administration since his second term began, and this latest jab at his efforts to rebrand US landmarks is just the latest example. The show has consistently pushed boundaries and sparked controversy over the years, but its creators seem determined to keep poking fun at the former president.
