South Texas Ronald McDonald House Bids Farewell to Aging Facility
Ronald McDonald House Charities South Texas is bidding farewell to its current facility after 36 years of service. The organization has invited the community, former families, volunteers, donors, and supporters to a 'Farewell Fiesta Open House' event.
The event took place on August 28-29, allowing guests to tour the facility one last time, share memories, and celebrate its impact. Michelle Horine, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities South Texas, emphasized the building's significance: 'This building has been here since 1990, serving thousands of families over the years.'
The current 25-room facility will be demolished to make way for a new, larger building with at least 48 rooms. The expansion comes as more than 20 families are currently on the waitlist for the organization's services.
