Southwest Airlines Hits Record 100 Daily International Flights
Southwest Airlines has reached a milestone in its international expansion, operating over 100 daily international flights for the first time in its history. This achievement marks the fastest period of international growth in the airline's 55-year history, with the number of daily international departures increasing from 93 to 100.
The carrier plans to operate 10,703 international flights between August 2026 and April 2027 across 81 routes serving Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. Every one of these flights is operated on a Boeing 737 aircraft, which has a published range of approximately 3,550 nautical miles (6,570 km) with 175 passengers.
The airline's international network primarily consists of leisure destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. The most-served international destination by departures is Cancun International Airport (CUN), which Southwest connects from multiple US airports and generates the highest international passenger volume in the airline's network.
