Elon Musk's latest announcement has sent shockwaves through the tech industry. On Tuesday, during SpaceX's earnings call, Musk revealed that the company will exclusively use Nvidia chips for its AI infrastructure going forward.

The decision is a significant vote of confidence in Nvidia's technology and marks a major partnership between the two companies. As part of this deal, SpaceX will design its Starmind AI1 satellite compute payload using Nvidia's next-generation Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs.

The satellites are expected to launch next year, with each one packing datacenter-class computing power in orbit. This technology could have a significant impact on the industry, enabling more efficient and powerful AI processing in space.

SpaceX also reported strong earnings, with revenue reaching $7.8 billion in Q2, up 92% year-over-year. However, shares dropped after hours as investors focused on the company's $18.4 billion capital expenditure recorded in the three months through June.
