SpaceX Partnership Puts Nvidia in Prime Position to Reap Rewards
SpaceX's second-quarter financial report has been met with mixed reactions from investors. The company generated $7.8 billion in revenue, a 92% increase year-over-year. Its net loss of $541 million was significantly better than the $1 billion loss suffered in the prior quarter.
The AI segment saw a surge in revenue, growing 247% to $2.56 billion. The operating loss narrowed to $1.2 billion from $1.5 billion in the year-ago quarter.
CEO Elon Musk announced that SpaceX will deploy Nvidia's Vera Rubin NVL723 rack-scale AI supercomputer both in space and on the ground. The company is also partnering with Nvidia to design the Starmind AI satellite compute payload, which will include Nvidia GPUs and CPUs for data center-class space computing.
