SpaceX Puts All Its Chips In With Exclusive Deal For Nvidia GPUs
SpaceX has made a significant commitment to Nvidia, stating that it will only use the company's graphics processing units (GPUs) going forward. In an earnings call on Wednesday, CEO Elon Musk said that SpaceX believes Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture is the best for AI computing and that it greatly values its partnership with the company.
'We think it's the best AI computer,' Musk said during the call. 'So we're exclusive to Nvidia.' This decision means that SpaceX will be purchasing a significant percentage of Nvidia's GPUs next year, which could make up a notable share of Nvidia's revenue.
Nvidia has been a key technology partner for both Tesla and SpaceX, supplying GPU platforms that support AI model training, simulation, and advanced computing. Although Tesla has invested heavily in custom AI chips, it continues to use Nvidia GPUs for various AI and data center workloads.
