SpaceX Stock Swoons Major Investors Including Alphabet and NVIDIA
SpaceX's Nasdaq debut has catapulted Elon Musk's rocket company into the spotlight, with numerous high-profile investors disclosing their stakes in the company. According to recent 13F filings, tech giants Alphabet Inc., NVIDIA Corp., and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have all revealed significant positions in SpaceX.
Alphabet Inc. holds a massive position of approximately 551 million shares, valued at around $94 billion. This stake originated from a $900 million investment made by Google in 2015 and now accounts for the majority of its disclosed public equity portfolio. However, roughly $80 billion of this holding remains under short-term lockup, while another $14.1 billion is restricted until the third quarter of 2027.
NVIDIA Corp. has also entered the SpaceX cap table, disclosing about 122.76 million shares valued at around $21 billion. This position reportedly stems from Nvidia's earlier investment in xAI. Meanwhile, AMD revealed a $565.5 million stake in its 13F-HR filed on August 14.
On the institutional side, Harvard Management Co. has reported a $2.2 billion SpaceX position, making it their single largest disclosed equity holding. Citadel Advisors also disclosed a new SpaceX position alongside new stakes in Cerebras Systems and Quantinuum, with its overall equity portfolio ballooning 41.5% to $875.1 billion.
