SpaceX Valuation Surpasses Amazon and Microsoft Amid Record-Breaking Growth
SpaceX's stock has been on a tear since its record-breaking IPO, and on Tuesday it briefly surpassed Amazon and Microsoft in valuation. The company's shares rose over 12% to touch $2.94 trillion, making it one of the world's most valuable companies. However, the momentum was short-lived, and the stock slid back below those highs.
The rocket maker raised a staggering $85.7 billion in its IPO, making Elon Musk the world's first trillionaire. While some have questioned the valuation, citing a 2025 revenue forecast of just $18.67 billion and a net loss of $4.94 billion after the merger with xAI, others see it as a sign of the company's immense potential.
Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior market analyst at Swissquote Bank, was skeptical about the valuation, saying that 'it makes absolutely no sense today.' She pointed to the low revenue forecast and net loss as reasons to be cautious. However, others see the rapid growth in the tech sector and SpaceX's innovative work in space exploration as justification for its high valuation.
