SpaceX's Nasdaq Weighting Set to Double, AI Launch Looms
SpaceX's Nasdaq 100 weighting is set to more than double to 2.82% this month, potentially triggering billions of dollars in passive-fund buying.
The increase could make SpaceX (SPCX) one of the biggest weight factors on the index, with $1.7 trillion in assets following it at the end of the second quarter.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said he is 'highly confident' that the company will launch Nvidia-powered AI computers into orbit next year.
The hardware, called NVL72, has been redesigned for orbital weight, radiation, and thermal constraints, and will use solar power, radiator cooling, and laser links derived from Starlink technology.
