SPEEA-Boeing Contract Talks Yield Tentative Agreements

The Boeing Company and its engineers/technicians union, SPEEA, have reached a tentative agreement on new contracts after just four weeks of negotiations. The talks were held every day for up to 14 hours a day, with both sides praising the collaborative atmosphere that led to the agreements.

Kelly Ortberg became Boeing's CEO in August 2024 and stated one of his goals was to 'reset' labor relations, which had been strained since the company's merger with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. The SPEEA contract negotiations were seen as Ortberg's chance to make a positive impact on this issue.
