Spire Motorsports Chases Championship Glory at Daytona
Spire Motorsports is gearing up for its first appearance in NASCAR's championship playoff format, The Chase. The team has clinched a spot in the 16-driver field with Daniel Suárez and Carson Hocevar securing their positions after last Sunday's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 will be televised live on NBC on Saturday, August 29th, starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The event will also be broadcast on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
Spire Motorsports' No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, driven by Daniel Suárez, is one of the team's three entries in the Cup Series. The team has a strong history at Daytona International Speedway, having earned its first Cup Series win on July 7, 2019, with Justin Haley.
For Suárez, this event holds special significance as it marks his chance to sweep this year's Coca-Cola entitlement races after earning his third career NASCAR Cup Series win in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also hopes to add another trophy to the garage after his impressive runner-up finish last year.
Ryan Sparks, crew chief of Spire Motorsports' No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, has called 227 NASCAR Cup Series races and collected six top-five and 16 top-10 finishes since making his debut in 2020. He has a strong record at Daytona with two top fives and five top 10s.
