Sprite Branded Train Hits Indian Tracks as Tejas Express Debuts
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Coca-Cola India have launched the Sprite Tejas Express, the country's first branded train. The train will run on the Lucknow-New Delhi-Lucknow route for six months starting August 2026, offering a unique travel experience to passengers.
The train features five coaches with exterior branding from Sprite, and passengers can expect to see the brand prominently displayed at originating and en-route stations. Onboard, Sprite will be part of the passenger food bundle, and passengers will receive samples and merchandise as part of the inauguration.
Abhishek Gupta, Vice President, Customer Development, Coca-Cola India & Southwest Asia, said, 'We congratulate IRCTC on this innovative partnership and an important milestone for travel experiences in India. At Coca-Cola, we continue to explore collaborations that can unlock new avenues for growth and create shared value.'
The train's flag-off ceremony featured a flag made from repurposed PET bottles, showcasing the brand's commitment to sustainability. The train itself will incorporate recycled material applications on ground, with benches made from recycled plastic at stations.
