Sprite Brings Its Fizz to Indian Railways with Tejas Express Rebrand
The Indian Railways' first private train, Tejas Express, is getting a new look and name. The Lucknow-Delhi route will now be branded as 'Sprite Tejas Express', thanks to an advertising deal between IRCTC and Coca-Cola India Private Limited's unit, Sprite.
The Tejas Express, which was introduced in 2019, offers modern onboard facilities and has coaches capable of running at speeds of up to 200 kmph. However, due to track-related restrictions, it currently operates at a maximum speed of 160 kmph.
Under the six-month deal, Sprite will wrap five coaches with vinyl advertising and announce the train as 'Sprite Tejas Express' at all stations along its route.
