Sports drink brand Sprite has signed a multi-year deal to become the official soft drink partner of the NBL and WNBL, starting from the 2026/27 season.

The partnership will see Sprite courtside across both leagues, with an early focus on showcasing dunks as the centrepiece of its activation. The brand will also be involved in the NBL Next Stars pathway, linking young players to professional basketball and potentially the NBA.

Gemma Versteeg, Marketing Director at Sprite, said the tie-up is a natural next step for the brand, which has been associated with basketball globally for decades. She noted that Australian basketball is fast-growing and unapologetically itself, reflecting the values of the brand.

The deal reflects growing interest from major brands in the leagues, according to David Stevenson, Group CEO of the NBL. He thanked Coca-Cola Australia and New Zealand for its backing of players and fans and highlighted the fan moments that will be created through the partnership.
