Square has deepened its collaboration with Google to support the future of coffee ordering. The partnership allows U.S. food and beverage sellers who use Square to appear directly in Ask Maps, a conversational AI experience within Google Maps.

Using this feature, customers can discover restaurants and place orders simply by asking questions like 'Order spicy pad kee mao with seafood for me to pick up on my way home.'

Square sellers can get discovered through natural, conversational questions, surfacing directly in Ask Maps responses. They will also be able to stay accurate everywhere, automatically, as information in Square pulls to a Google Business Profile and Ask Maps in real time.

The partnership marks the first step in a broader collaboration between Square and Google, aiming to build new ways for sellers to be discovered and transact across Google's ecosystem. The expansion of the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) to the food industry is also part of this partnership.
