Staley Admits Sharing Confidential Bank Info with Epstein
Jes Staley, a former JPMorgan executive and CEO of Barclays from 2015 to 2021, has revealed that he shared confidential bank information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a transcript released by the U.S. Congress House Oversight Committee, Staley divulged sensitive details to Epstein during their professional relationship, which lasted over three decades at JPMorgan.
Staley admitted to sharing confidential communications with the Federal Reserve during the 2008 financial crisis, $44 billion in private bank inflows over two weeks, his own compensation, and details of pending deals.
He also testified that he informed Epstein about the bank's concerns over his large cash withdrawals and told him he had been designated a high-risk client.
