Starcloud Secures $250M at $2.3B Valuation for Space-Based Data Centers
Starcloud, a pioneering startup in space-based data centers, has secured US$250 million in its latest funding round. This injection of capital values the company at an impressive US$2.3 billion, nearly double its previous valuation of US$1.1 billion in March.
The funding was led by Manhattan West and included new investors Nvidia NVDA.O and Cisco Investments CSCO.O, alongside existing backers Benchmark, EQT, and Soma. The startup's total capital raised now stands at US$450 million since its inception in 2024.
Starcloud plans to utilize the funds for expanding manufacturing capacity, engineering collaboration with Nvidia on the Nvidia Space-1 Vera Rubin Module, and procurement of newer products. The company is aiming to establish a constellation of 88,000 satellites and achieve 20 gigawatts of orbital compute capacity.
