Starcloud Valued at $2.3 Billion Following $250 Million Funding Round
Starcloud, a startup building data centers in space, has secured $250 million at a valuation of $2.3 billion. This funding round comes as part of the company's efforts to expand its AI infrastructure through orbital data centers.
The investment was led by Manhattan West, with participation from new investors Nvidia and Cisco Investments, alongside existing backers Benchmark, EQT, and Soma.
Starcloud's total capital raised now stands at $450 million since its founding in 2024. The funding will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, collaborate on engineering projects with Nvidia, and procure newer products.
The company is targeting a constellation of 88,000 satellites and 20 gigawatts of orbital compute capacity. It's also building a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Woodinville, Washington, for its next-generation Starcloud-3 spacecraft.
