Stock Market Ends Week with Losses Amid Oil Price Surge
The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished about 1.6 percent lower near 52,573 after a holiday-shortened week following Labor Day.
The S&P 500 dropped around 0.8 percent near 7,657 and the Nasdaq Composite lost approximately 0.7 percent near 26,333.
The Dow-30, Nasdaq Composite, and S&P 500 all rose about 1% on Friday after a mostly in-line inflation report, lower oil prices, and earnings beats from tech companies like Dell, HPE, Apple, and others lifted Wall Street.
