Stocks Rebound on Wall Street as Oil Prices and Bond Yields Stabilize
Wall Street stocks rose on Wednesday as oil prices and bond yields stabilized. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.6%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 421 points, or 0.8%, to 10:52 a.m. Eastern time.
The gains followed two weak days for the broader market, which had come under pressure from rising oil prices and a bond-market sell-off. Banks showed significant growth, with JPMorgan Chase rising 1.7% and Bank of America increasing by 2.4%.
Dell Technologies also rose 3.7% after releasing an encouraging financial update. Oil prices remained relatively steady despite the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, with Brent crude rising 0.2% to $94.83 a barrel.
