The majority of big stores and supermarket chains are likely to be open on Labor Day weekend, with many running promotions and discounts to attract customers. However, store hours may vary depending on location, especially for retailers within shopping centers.
An exception is Costco, which has announced that its warehouses will be closed on September 7, 2026. Most other major retail chains, including Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, and IKEA, are expected to remain open with regular or holiday hours.
